CHALLENGE LEVEL: DIFFICULT
We would consider this a difficult trek and rate it a 5 by our grading system. Hiking in Nepal is unlike anything in Australia due to the altitude and awe inspiring scale of the mountains and hence the altitude exposure. All trails are formed but some surfaces may be loose. There are no major technical sections and your nights are spent comfortably in traditional teahouses. A high level of fitness will be required. Some days you will experience altitude gains over 1000m and will need to walk for 6+ hours for consecutive days and will experience exposure to heights (think suspension bridges across canyons!) Don’t be unnerved though! With support and a dedicated training program you CAN develop the fitness and ability required to explore Upper Mustang, the “Forbidden Kingdom” with us.
